PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (10 handed) - Converter Tool

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7Image, 3Image
UTG raises, UTG+1 3-bets, 2 folds, MP2 caps, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, [color=#666666][i]Hero????

Pot odds of 9:1!!! But what do you do? Flopping top pair is reasonably not a consideration, and we are getting the odds to flop a flush draw, but with two suited cards it is 14.6:1 that I will hit a flush by the river.

This type of hand also has straight possibilitities, but unless you flop a straight outright your looking at a gutshot draw at best. But so much money in the pot and with what has transpired preflop, even if i do get a draw, chances are it's going to cost me a few bucks to chase it down. So what is the general consensus? Too much in the pot to let it go, or too much oncoming foolishness to try something with a 37s?

Wow, really.

Here is what I think.

ARE YOU HIGH? ok, even if you make a straight...you will not have the nuts by having only one end. Anyone playing 7-8 suited has you DOMINATED.

THEN, even if you flush...with this many callers you can't think you have the best flush.

Flopping pair, even top pair? You know someone is playing a higher pair, right?

Seriously, you best hope is rainbow board that pairs both cards....BUT there is a higher pair just waiting for a board pair, right?

You cannot eliminate any hands from the betting pattern can you?

Middle pairs, two suited cards, BIG PAIRS, it's all live and you're gonna go 4 bets into a 5 way pot.....

and you're still thinking about it?

Let it go man. There will be a better spot.

Do you use pokertracker?

Geez I was only trying to post something i thought might be a good discussion about pot odds, and implied odds. i thought it would be a good discussion for newer players to see. of course i folded it.

hee hee. It is a food for thought decision. Yeah I like the post and intention. Pot odds is such a great concept. I usually lean away form given it to much credit as in this case. In most cases I would fold this hand but I may call with 75s if I am not short stacked.

I love my suited connectors when playing at the limit table however this is an easy fold hand.

You're probably looking at someone at the least having 99 or better and and even better flush draw.

agree a better example is a one gapper, four and you can be sure any straight is not the nuts. Even a three gapper has a chance of being best str8

The problem with your thought process is that you are not computing the right odds. You may be dead in the water if you hit a straight or a flush here and what you are really looking for is the board to give you trips. Even then you are a question mark because you have to fear every high card on the board could be matching their pp and you lose to a full boat.

You have to let this hand go. Having two connecting suited connectors is a great situation, but you have that huge gap and the odds are way against you here. FNG suggests a one gapper is a much better fit and I agree, but I would want them connected with that kind of action out there. You know you are way behind and if your hand hits, you need to make sure you have the nuts.

i call and pray 654 clubs hits flop!
and when it does

then i laugh as all the other players call me a donkey as i leave the table with thier chips

then i wake up and realize it was all a bad dream induced by hyppies smoking bongloads in my room while im sleeping

pot odds are there but what about implied odds ,and all the other odds i dont understand :?:

I think pot odds are over rated in alot of cases!
this would be one good case here!
the numbers and math and verbeage is confusing to me
but i think common sense can take alot of the pain out of thinking :!:

Here's how the hand played out.

PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (10 handed) -

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7Image, 3Image
UTG raises, UTG+1 3-bets, 2 folds, MP2 caps, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, 2 folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls

Flop: (21.5 SB) 6Image, 4Image, 5Image (5 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Button raises, UTG 3-bets, 1 fold, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Button calls

Arghhhhh! I would have flopped the straight. Please direct me to the nearest tallest building so i can leap off the top!!!

Turn: (16.75 BB) 3Image (4 players)
UTG bets, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Button calls

River: (20.75 BB) 8Image (4 players)
UTG bets, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold

Total pot: $23.75 (23.75 BB) | Rake: $0.50

Don't remember the specific final results, but no one else had a straight and a very large pot would have been mine.

Omg that is amazing. lol. Unreal. I hope I don't start making these calls now. :)
You see alot of this in Omaha and you just have to let it go and say to yourself "i made the right play, i made the right play, i made the right play" :) You say this shortly after you realize it is a shitty rainy day and the tall building is an annoying ten minute drive away.

Well one of twenty won't make it a winning strategy :)

I'd be interested to see what the other two had, you don't have the results of the hand?
