I started the thread films 2009, so I might as well make this a yearly thing. The only problem is that this may have been the worst year for film in history. I haven't seen a new movie I've loved all year, and I doubt that has ever happened before. The best film I've seen this year was the Liam Neeson film Five Minutes of Heaven. The only film I saw at the theaters was Jackass 3D. The only upcoming films I'm looking forward to are the Peter Weir/Ed Harris film The Way Back and the Scorsese film that comes out next December. This is sad. Where did the indy films go?

One of the my disappointments in movies was the avatar last air bender, me and the kids watch the cartoon when we get a chance, and although its not that bad it could have been better.

Do not, I repeat, do not see "Stone" if you're looking for a
psychological thriller! Although I like both Deniro and Norton, this flick was a bore to me from start to end.

It's sad when it has become easier to talk about films we didn't like than films we did like, because there aren't any good new films anymore. I was reading an interview with Tom Berenger the other day, and he said not only does he not understand the film industry anymore, his agent doesn't understand the industry anymore. Sad. Is just wanting to see a good film I haven't seen before too much to ask for?

Exactly, its like politics these days, many of us vote for "the lesser of the two evils" It's pathetic. Give me another Godfather, or another Braveheart, or something I could look foward to.

I saw a few movies last year that were worthy of recommending. The Fighter was a very good movie and I like that it was based on the true lives and events that happened to Micky Ward and his brother who trained him to become a pro boxer in the 1980's.

True Grit was another really good movie that I will recommend to you. I love westerns of any kind. I was so sad to see Deadwood canceled and this kinda reminded me of that, with the way they talked and worked in the names of some famous outlaws and characters we all know and love from those days.

The Town was a good movie for those who like gritty crime drama's and tough personal and family relationship dramas. I enjoyed it.

Winter's Bone was such an awesome movie and a very true portrayal of the way Mountain life is. I came from the TN. Mountains so I was glued to the screen during the whole movie, I think I saw some of my cousin in there lol!

Everyone needs to see Tron...I loved the original and I loved the new one as well...and awesome movie and well worth the trip to the theater to see it on the big screen!

well the only new movie I've seen so far this year is True Grit, very good movie. Jeff Bridges is awesome as well as Matt Damon. Worth the money to see!

I forgot that the Ian Dury bio-pic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll came out last year. That was the best film of the year. Of course, it was barely released in the US.

Most of the Oscar bait films look really bad. I am willing to watch Winter's Bone, but don't want to have too high of expectations. The film was shot down the street from my parents' timeshare, and driving around there you have to dodge all the meth heads.

Winter's Bone was overrated. Meth heads aren't very interesting.

The 2010 film I've seen recently that was pretty good was Get Low, but then I'm a sucker for Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek. I'd rank Get Low #3 for the year behind Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll #1 and Five Minutes of Heaven #2. However, none of the films are great though.
